Synopsis:

Every Saturday morning means breakfast at Donnie's for "The Remixes" - a hippie trio music group.  But this morning is different.  Shey, Logan, and Rory are headed cross country for California to pursue their dreams as musicians rather than going to college.  On their way out of town, they stop at a diner they've never been to before, with plans of dining and dashing.  After being seated, they discover their waitress is Shey's high school A capella rival.  Will this assist or inhibit the trio's dine and dash, and will Shey gain redemption after being stepped over her entire life?

Personal Statement:

This coming of age, spontaneous, and free-spirited story is about a girl, Shey, who fits in better with an adventurous and eccentric group of guys rather than the girls at her high school.  We see how this brotherly bond influences her and her reaction to her enemy’s strike.

This story is something I want to tell because growing up as an only child, I always longed for this type of light-hearted brotherly relationship.  When I got to college, I found this three-way friendship with two whacky pseudo-brothers, and it means the world to me.  I would like to display this exciting triangle on screen to not only tell people that we can build our own families, but also to show young women this age that it’s okay to fit in where society might not expect you to.

SPECIAL THANKS:

Every single person who has made even the smallest contribution, is helping to make this project possible.  I cannot thank each of you enough.

Thank you to my parents for putting their hearts and soul into this.  I couldn't have raised the funds or fed this crew without my mom, and I couldn't have housed the cast and crew without my dad.  I also couldn't have done it without their never ending support and love for my art.

Thank you to Yemane Demissie, my professor, for talking to me at 3:30 AM when I was casting, rewriting the script, or just needed to talk.  That's only the tip of the iceberg.  Beyond this, he is one of my biggest role models and I would not have made this at all if it weren't for his encouragement.

Thank you to the location owners, Selma and Noel, at Bloodroot Vegetarian Restaurant in Bridgeport, CT for being so open with their space and letting us film there for an entire week.

Thank you to artists Tammy Winser, Teresa Rainieri, Melissa Teitel, Kerry Heftman, and Liz Leggett for generously donating their art to my fundraising event.

Thank you to David Waldman for so generously donating the space for the fundraiser.

Thank you to Tammy Winser for designing the fundraising event graphics.

Thank you to Broken Shed Vodka for donating vodka to the fundraising event.

Thank you to Lara Manbeck, Sam Kingston, and Janna Sturgis for performing at the fundraiser; and Alex Brown for sound mixing the event.

I also could not have housed this crew without Emily and John Brakeman, Paul Shay, or Joan Casanova.
